# Designated Observational Travelers (DOTs)

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note:** Originally, the additional characters in the MetaHero Universe were called **Sidekicks**. Sidekicks is now a project codename for the additional characters and creatures that'll be released in 2 parts: [DOTs](/pixel-vault/learn/ecosystem/iu/dots.md) & [Species](/pixel-vault/learn/ecosystem/iu/species.md).
{% endhint %}

[**Designated Observational Travelers (DOTs)**](https://www.inhabitantsuniverse.com/characters) are additional characters in the [Inhabitants Universe](/pixel-vault/learn/ecosystem/iu.md), created by a fictional company called Genesynth Industries. They'll come in 7 different tiers, with varying sizes and skill levels. DOTs will have a role to play in the stories and games of the MetaHero Universe.
